Dr Dalma Demeter

Dalma has a truly international background, encompassing both civil law and common law education and practice, with law degrees from leading European and US universities and Australian qualifications in higher education. She is teaching and researching in international arbitration, international sales law, internaitonal trade law and mooting. Her excellence in teaching has been recognised by several awards and is reflected by the visiting academic positions she holds at universities globally. Her teaching is based on extensive research reflected by her publications and conference presentations.
Combining teaching with practice, Dalma is also an arbitrator in international commercial disputes and an arbitrator at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in both Hong Kong and Vienna. She is also a contributor to law reform inquiries in private international law, alternative dispute resolution and international trade law.
Dalma is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Australia, of the Law Council of Australia International Division, of the Australian UNCITRAL Coordination Committee, of the ACT Law Society, of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA), of the Shenzen Arbitration Commission, of the Institute for Arbitrators and Mediators Australia (IAMA), of the International Network of Women in Dispute Resolution (ArbitralWomen) and of the Romanian Bar Association.
She is fluent in English, Hungarian and Romanian.
